Pets make better partners than humans

(Bihar Times) In the study of 900 pet owners, by BizRate Research for Shopzilla, the leading shopping search site on the Web, women said they had a deeper emotional connection with their pets than men did. Nearly all women respondents (99%) reported that they frequently talked to their pets (vs. 95% of men) and 93% of women think that their pets communicate with them (vs. 87% of men).

More than half of women (56%) feel that their pets are more affectionate than their partners (vs. 41% of men), and 45% of women think their pets are cuter than their partners (vs. 24% of men). 73% of female pet owners report they are more inclined to date or marry someone who also has a pet (compared to 50% of men ). Approximately 68% pet owners report their pets make them happier than their jobs. Women outnumbered the men (72% vs. 60% of men).

More than half (61%) of pet owners feel that their pets reflect their personality "very much" or "moderately." More women felt this way (70%) compared to men.

In another study done by Opinion Matters in September 2008 , pet owners are more likely to display a photo of their pet than their partner on the mantelpiece at home.

So basically , surveys of both men and women show that a majority of them believe that pets make better partners than humans. Here’s some of the reasons – I have taken a selection from the internet and views from the people in my office:

1. The later you come back, the more delightedly your dog greets you. Contrast this to a partner’s sulking or screaming.
2. Dogs don’t object to untidiness . In fact, the more stuff you fling around, the happier he is. He’ll roll around on your clothes, investigate interesting smelly items like socks and have himself a good time. .
3. A dog's time in the bathroom is limited to a quick drink.
4. Dogs never reminds you that you eat/smoke/drink/procrastinate/slouch too much. Your pet loves you just the way you are, not the way you should be.
5. Your pet accepts your decisions unquestioningly . When asked to sit , he doesn’t ask why? Nor does he challenge your authority on anything
6. Dogs will forgive you for playing with other dogs
7. Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.
8. Dogs like to do their snooping outside rather than in your wallet or desk.
9. You never have to wait for a dog; they`re ready to go 24 hours a day.
10.Dogs don't care if you haven't taken a shower in days.
11. Dogs never need to examine the relationship.
12. A dog will not wake you up at night to ask, "If I died, would you get another dog?"
13. A dog won`t hold out on you to get a new car.
14. Dogs don`t let magazine articles guide their lives.
15. Dogs don't worry about germs.
16. Dogs never complain about what music you listen to.
17. Dogs don't expect you to call them when you're running late.
18. Dogs won't ever max out your credit cards.
19. Dogs never expect you to buy them expensive gifts. They don’t care about flowers or jewellery
20. Dogs make the best traveling companions. They don't mess with the a/c or the radio; and they think you are the world's best driver.

Why do women prefer dogs to male partners?
