Former head of the department of English, Patna College, Prof. Shailendra Dhari Singh was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants at his Naya Tola residence here on the Sunday evening. He was also a member of Patna University Senate. Two young persons visited his house around 5-30 pm to discus about his landed property near Bihta. His wife Sadhana Singh who is a lecturer in Mgadh Mahila College, told that those visitors after killing him fled away. Prof. Singh had returned from UK on 23rd Oct. So far police failed to arrest anyone in this connection.
