Patna, (Bihar Times): Top scientist of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), M A Khan, suggested that the farmers who have lost their crops in the flood affected districts can now cultivate fodder crops in the short term. The productivity lost due to large agricultural lands turning into sand dunes can be made up to an extent by the use of quality seeds.

Khan, who is the East India chief of ICAR, said the fish farmers would need fresh fingerlings. These measures, besides diversification into horticulture, can help increase incomes in the wake of loss of farm lands.
