Patna, (Bihar Times): The Japan Bank of International Corporation has asked the state government to submit its detail project report (DPR) at the earliest so that the work could begin on the four-lane Buddhist Circuit. The Bank officials, who met the officers of the Road Construction Department on Thursday, assured to fund Rs 1,600 crore for the 481.20 km long project. Under this project the 275 km long stretch from Bakhtiarpur-Biharsharif-Nalanda-Rajgir-Hisua-Gaya-Bodh Gaya would be converted into four-lane road. However, the work would be first be taken up on the 125 km long Patna-Bodh Gaya route. That route would be extended to Dhobi, through which the Golden Quadrilateral passes.
According to the road construction secretary, R K Singh, the detail project report is almost complete and is likely to be submitted by October. If things went on well the work on the project would start from April next year.
Not only that the JBIC would provide financial assistance for the development of infrastructure, drinking water and electricity in Nalanda, Rajgir, Vaishali, Kesaria, Areraj and Mangalgarh.
