Patna, May 29 (IANS) In a rare instance of its kind,
winners were decided in two Bihar civic body wards
by toss of coin after four candidates polled the
same number of votes.
The
bizarre method was resorted to after two candidates
each finished at par in Motihari and Chapra, Election
Commission official Raghuvansh Kumar Sinha said
here.

Motihari
is the headquarters of East Champaran district bordering
Nepal, 200 km from Patna. Chapra in Saran district is
located 150 km from Patna.
Sinha
said a total of 2,864 wards saw elections across the
state. He added that the contestants in the two places
where coins were tossed to decide the winner accepted
the outcome.
