(BiharTimes): The steering committee of the Planning
Commission on Friday gave nod to the proposal of
setting up an Indian Institute of Technology, Indian
Institute of Management and Indian Institute of
Information Technology in Bihar, besides a University
Grants Commission-aided college in each district
of the state.
This
was decided in the meeting with secretaries higher
education of various states in New Delhi. Those
present in the meeting included the UGC chairman,
S K Thorat and senior officials of the Centre.
Prof B L Mungekar, member (education, planning
commission) chaired the meeting which also discussed
various aspects of secondary, higher and technical
education in the country.
