Patna(BiharTimes):
Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday evening
changed the portfolios of some of the ministers
of his cabinet. This happened a day after the
reorganization of state governments departments.
However, the total number of minister and ministers
of state remained 27.
The
reorganization has been done on the recommendation
of the Administrative Reforms Commission headed
by former chief secretary, Vijay Shankar Dubey.
The ARC has reduced the total number of departments
from 47 to 44 besides, making some other small
changes. Ten specified departments have been kept
by the chief minister himself.
Deputy
chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi lost the portfolio
of programme implementation part of the institutional
finance of the finance department. The housing
department has been merged with the urban development,
which is being held by Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Thus Monazir Hasan will remain only the building
construction minister. The registration department
has been merged with excise and prohibition department.
Sudha Srivastava holds this portfolio.
Narendra
Narayan Yadav, till now the rural development
minister, now has two departments: rural work
and panchayati raj. Rameshwar Paswan will have
SC, ST welfare department as well as social welfare
department. Food and civil supplies department
has been renamed food and consumer protection
department and the sugar cane department has become
cane industries department.
