Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the Rs 139 crore new Assembly complex. The new building, to be constructed near the old structure built in 1920, will be completed within two years.
Those present on the occasion included Speaker, Uday Narayan Chaudhary, Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, Tarakant Jha and other dignataries.

Nitish said that the new complex will be built on the line of Parliament with a Central Hall between the Upper and Lower Houses. It will have offices for the chief ministers, Speaker of the Assembly, Chairman of the Legislative Council, ministers and officers.
The barracks will be razed to the ground and the new structure will come up in the entire area. There will be conventional centre, cafeteria and open green space.
The complex will be spread over an area of 5.57 lakh square feet with legislative complex covering 2.58 lakh square feet.

It should be recalled that while the present structure, which houses the Assembly came up in 1920 time to time extensions had been made in the past. The Annexe came up in early 1990s.

Nitish babu when you had announced that Bihar should have new Assembly and Legislative Building, I could not believe, but aftering reading the news in BiharTimes.com and other news portals, my dream came true. I wish you all the very best. May God Give You Long And Healthy Life, in order to acheive your dream and defenitely "HISTORY IS CREATED WHILE FOUNDATION STONE LED BY YOUR GOODSELF FOR NEW BIHAR ASSEMBLY BUILDING". You will be always remeber after Babu Sri Krishna Singh (the then Chief Minister of my home district Nawadah) for his all-round development initiative way back in 1960s.
I urge your goodself not to worry but move forward and forward, never look behind, as we are all with you. The opposition parties (RJD and LJP) has lost all credibility and I am sure Jangal Raj will never come back in next Bihar General Election.
Again my best wishes to you, your government, BiharTimes.com, people of India and in particular people of Bihar on Happy Republic Day.
