09/08/2010 Nitish once again opposes Narendra Modi’s election campaign in Bihar
Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has once again raised the issue of election campaign by Narendra Modi. Addressing Janata Dal (United) delegates on the last day of its National Executive meeting in New Delhi on Sunday he opposed the presence of Gujarat chief minister during the election campaign in Bihar later this year. However, he said his party was yet to take a final decision on Pilbhit MP of the BJP, Varun Gandhi. Most leaders, including Nitish himself, were against him too. The Bihar chief minister said that the seat arrangement with the BJP and campaign would be exactly on the pattern of 2005 in which Modi did not participate. Varun was then not even an MP, so there was no question of him taking part in the last electioneering. During a Press Conference on Sunday JD(U) president Sharad Yadav also told reporters that the 2005 arrangement will continue. However, political observers are of the view that Nitish had raised the issue of Narendra Modi’s election campaign once again as he wanted to send the signal to Muslims that he is still maintaining distance with him. Modi himself is looking for an excuse and reports from Ahmedabad suggest that he would keep himself busy in the civic body election in his home state to be held in October-November, when Bihar too would be going for election.
Every citizen has every right to campaign any where in India.It is the guarantee given by our constitution.Who are these fellows to object about some people?If minorities can be placated & if it goes secular way, what an earth can prevent for some leaders to speak for the cause of majority. Does secularism mean only speaking for minorities & their rights ? Are majority no rights in this Dr.Kopparty Venugopalarao,
