Patna, (Bihar Times): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday once again urged railway minister Mamata Banerjee to conduct a high level inquiry into the profits railways earned during the five years tenure of Lalu Prasad as the railway minister.
|
Talking to newsmen outside the Bihar legislative council Nitish said the claims made by Lalu that the railways earned the profit to the tune of Rs one lakh crore should be probed to find out the actual financial health of the railways.
He said Mamata should tell the nation about the actual condition of the railways and its functioning during the last five years. He also urged her to see that all the pending railway projects in Bihar should be completed on priority basis and if there was any project of Lalu’s time it should also not be ignored.
He said that he was confident that the profits shown by Lalu after he took charge of the railway ministry are a farce. The profits have been orchestrated by jugglery of figures at the cost of passengers, Nitish, who is also a former railway minister, said.
