Patna, (BiharTimes): Now Pinddaan can be performed from anywhere abroad at the click of a mouse.
The Bihar government has decided to introduce video-conferencing facility for this purpose. Pinddaan is offered in Gaya for the salvation of the souls of the dear and near ones and about half a million Hindus from across the country and abroad descend here during Pitripaksha Mela. This year the Pitripaksha begins on September 3.

The video-conferencing facility can be availed of by paying a fee through credit card. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting presided over by deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and attended, among others, by tourism minister Rampravesh Rai.
Modi said that Vishnu Vihar, a 35-room hotel of the tourism department, has become operational at Gaya from this year.
Cottages would also be available at Gaya during the fortnight-long Pitripaksha fair.
