Govinda’s films face ban in Bihar, Jharkhand

Patna, (Bihar Times): The Bihar-Jharkhand Motion Pictures Association (BJMPA) has decided to impose ban on films of Govinda in the two states. The decision came following his alleged support to Raj Thackeray's stand against the people of north Indian in general and Bihar in particular.

Ujjawal Kumar, an executive member of the BJMPA, told a section of Press that strict actions would be taken against all those who try to create regional division. He said that be it Govinda or any other actor the use of words hurting sentiments of the Biharis is not justified. Not only has the BJMPA decided to ban release of Govinda’s new films in Bihar and Jharkhand even his old movies will not be screened.

Bhojpuri actor Kunal Singh appreciated the decision of the Association. Incidentally Govinda hails from Uttar Pradesh.
