Patna :(Bihar Times) The Supreme Court collegium of judges headed by the Chief Justice of India, K.G Balkrishnan has cleared the transfer/ elevation of seven High Court judges.
The Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, Justice J.B.Koshy has been recommended for elevation as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court to succeed Justice R.M Lodha, sworn in as Apex court judge on Wednesday.
The acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Justice Chandra Mauli Kumar Prasad is to be elevated as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court in place of Chief Justice H.L Gokhale who has been recommended for transfer as Chief Justice of Madras High court to succeed Justice A.K Ganguly who has become Supreme Court Judge.
Justice Barin Ghosh, judge of the Patna High Court is to become Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The Union Law Ministry has already initiated the process of obtaining the consent of the State governments concerned in respect of the persons recommended. Once the views of state governments are obtained, the names would be forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office to be sent to the President for her consent.
